Redfish Village is located in the heart of Blue Mountain Beach where sand dunes and pine forests along the beach rise up to over seventy feet tall, marking the highest elevation on the entire Gulf of Mexico. In the 1500s early Spanish explorers mapped this coast from miles offshore. From that distance, they thought they saw "blue mountains" rising above the shimmering white shores. What they were actually seeing were these tall hills and sand dunes covered with abundant Blue Lupine flowers, hence the color blue. They mapped it as "Blue Mountain Beach" and the name remained the same all these many years later. In this lovely setting, Redfish Village was completed in recent years as an attractive master planned residential community. This South Walton village features luxurious condominiums and some specialty boutiques that are only a three minute walk to the beach. The architectural style of this low rise complex is quite charming, styled with a mix of Dutch West Indies Colonial and Old Florida architectural touches. It is located next to Big Redfish Lake, just a short distance from the beach with its own exclusive beach access that comes with restroom facilities and showers. If you have a lot of picnic gear to carry, you'll be happy to know there is also a complimentary beach shuttle conveniently available "on call "during the season for drop offs and pickups.

Big Redfish Lake is one of three pristine precious Coastal Dune Lakes nearby along Scenic 30 which are a unique, beautiful, natural phenomenon. Other than here in South Walton, these kinds of lakes are found in very few other places in the world. Sand dunes separate them from the gulf which provides a mix of salt and fresh artisan waters as they open and close over time. This creates an abundance of unusual flora and fauna. Redfish Village has a private dock that overlooks one of these idyllic scenes where you may fish or just relax and enjoy the natural beauty. A long raised walkway provides access to the dock from the spacious open sun deck that is next to the expansive palm lined, sparkling swimming pool. There is an over sized kiddie pool close by as well as a playground area. Redfish Village also offers guests use of a Fitness Facility, a Theater Room, a library with all the NY Times Best Sellers, and some gas grills on the sun deck to prepare your own family poolside BBQ.

The hills gently lead down to the lakes, turning into sand dunes along the shore. It should also be noted that Blue Mountain Beach is nationally designated as a "Blue Wave Beach" due to its unspoiled natural beauty. Few precious beaches receive this kind of designation which is our nation's highest environmental rating for cleanliness and beauty.

Despite the seemingly remote locale, Blue Mountain Beach offers quite a few choices for wining and dining. It is home to the area's oldest Health Food Store in South Walton which is named For the Health of It. This place would be right at home in northern California but sits here on Scenic 30A. They offer a wide variety of organic and mostly locally grown food items, spices, special vitamins, aromatherapy, a wonderful Juice Bar, and even massage. One of the newest restaurants in Blue Mountain Beach which has already started to receive Five Star Ratings from both locals and visitors is called Marie's Bistro which is also right off Scenic 30A. Delicious food is created by Chef Nasri who was trained in such diverse places as Cairo, Paris, New York, and Houston. His experience brings to the table a tasty interesting infusion of Mediterranean, Cajun, Southern, and even Tex Mex cuisine. In addition, Pub fare may be relished at nearby Johnny McTighe's, fresh seafood is available at Nick's, and gourmet food is presented in the romantic setting of an enchanting cottage at Cafe Tango. If you have a sweet tooth, you may want to try out La Loba's Bakery known for its Maple Nut Granola, Cinnamon Rolls, and organic breads. On the corner of Scenic 30A and Hwy 83 is The Blue Mountain Beach Creamery which is almost directly across the street from Redfish Village on the way to the beach. They serve delicious frozen yogurt, sorbets, and premium ice cream on a seasonal basis.
