Old Florida Beach

This seemingly remote South Walton location is in an enchanting world of its own on the gulf side of Scenic 30A, yet very close to everything Santa Rosa Beach has to offer. Old Florida Beach is an exclusive gated neighborhood featuring homes styled with architecture from the golden Americana-inspired era of the early 1900s. Most include front porch verandas, covered upper-level balconies, and metal roofs. The yards are adorned with palm trees, while white picket fences accent well-established lush tropical landscaping. Although the homes have a captivating “Old Florida” look, they feature comfortable furnishings, modern amenities, and creature comforts.

Old Florida Beach is nestled beside the luminescent emerald-toned waters of the Gulf of Mexico on its southern end and Draper Lake towards the east. Coastal Dune Lakes of this kind are precious natural treasures that are extremely rare and found hardly anywhere else in the world. Their magical mixture of artisan spring-fed and salted waters are created by creek-like estuaries that cross over the dunes to the gulf. Constant tidal action features an ebb and flow that supports a unique habitat for fresh and saltwater fish and wildlife. It provides a wonderful habitat for waterfowl like Great Blue Herons, Snowy White Egrets, and Ospreys.

A neighborhood dock beckons guests to enjoy fishing, paddle boarding, or kayak adventures on the lake. The narrow estuary which connects to the lovely lake is a short stroll down the sugary white beach and provides a fun place to start your exploration. This neighborhood also has a nice community pool with convenient restroom facilities and a spacious stone paver patio for sunny relaxation. Old Florida Beach includes sixty homes total, with seventeen right on the gulf and five on the lake. However, all of these vacation homes located here are within easy walking distance to the beautiful gulf, lake, and pool.

This fantastic Santa Rosa Beach locale is only two minutes away from the coastal village center of Gulf Place. It is home to great restaurants, friendly bars, an ice cream parlor with a game arcade, a coffee shop, fashion boutiques, specialty shops, and galleries. The Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is also located here. It features excellent restaurants, friendly bars with live music, shopping adventures, fun festivals, and seasonal firework celebrations. Sandestin is home to the enchanting Village of Baytowne Wharf and the tropically urbane Grand Boulevard.
