Old Florida Cottages

The charming neighborhood of Old Florida Cottages includes less than a dozen two-story homes gathered around Emerald Dunes Circle. This laid-back 30A community provides guests with a private and intimate vacation setting. The rental homes feature a covered front porch and upper-level balconies, while a beautiful palm-lined drive circles the neighborhood. These relaxing porches invite guests to enjoy favorite drinks and the salty breezes. Most of the homes include three or four bedrooms and accommodations for eight to twelve happy beach-going guests.

When not having lovely visits on the veranda, guests find themselves a short stroll away from the bright crystalline beach and glowing jewel-toned waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The neighborhood shore access is right down Gulfview Heights, just beyond the entrance to this community, less than a handful of minutes away. It features a palm-studded picnic pavilion with tables for dining, restroom facilities, and showers. A staircase with connected ramps leads down easily to the beach. Lifeguards are on duty during the summer season, which can give guests ease of mind.

The Old Florida Cottages neighborhood also features a community swimming pool if you want to enjoy some freshwater frolic. It is centered in the development, steps away from most of the homes located here. An arbor provides entrance to the patio surrounding the rectangular pool bordered by a pillar posted white picket fence. The exteriors grounds include clusters of tropical palms and some live oak trees, providing a relatively private setting. Restroom facilities are located at the end of the pool patio in a pavilion provided for shaded seating. Plenty of lounge furniture elsewhere features a spacious setting for sunny relaxation.

Although Old Florida Cottages feels like a world of its own, it is surprisingly close to restaurants, friendly beach bars, shopping adventures, and abundant amusements. One popular restaurant called Goatfeathers Seafood Restaurant is within easy walking distance very nearby on Scenic 30A. It features a casual setting that serves loads of fresh gulf caught seafood, steaks, comfort foods like country fried steak or pork chops, sandwiches, burgers, and great drinks. Happy Hours are featured daily from 3 pm till 5 pm. Goatfeathers also has an adjoining seafood market with loads of fresh shrimp and fish available for steaming, frying, or grilling.

The Santa Rosa Beach coastal village center of Gulf Place is less than five minutes away. It is home to some great restaurants with casual bars, a caterer, a wine outlet, a coffee shop, fashion boutiques, specialty shops, and galleries. A grassy palm-lined amphitheater in its center provides a perfect place to enjoy live outdoor musical concerts, various art shows, and fun festivals held throughout the year.
