Searching for a serene one bedroom beach getaway that looks directly out over the emerald toned waters of the glittering gulf? Check out Commodore's Retreat 206. This lovely location is south of Scenic 30A and is at the eastern end of Seagrove Beach, just a stone's throw away from aptly named Eastern Lake. In fact you may see the little estuary that flows to and fro into the open gulf from your balcony. This precious coastal dune lake supports an abundance of wildlife and provides great fishing. Coastal Dune Lakes are a rare phenomenon only found in places like Australia, New Zealand, Madagascar and here in South Walton. A Gulf mix of fresh and salt water creates an exotic blend of composition that supports a natural cornucopia of flora and fauna. The bright white beach sits beside it and runs all the way down past Deer Lake, which is preserved with vast acreage as a remote beautiful state park. Sometimes you may even spot deer here near the forested shore grazing on sea oats along the dunes. Dolphin may be seen off shore as well frolicking in the waves in search of fish. You feel at one with nature here and long walks along the beautiful beach are sure to be memorable.

Commodore's Retreat 206 is a second story vacation rental that includes a breezy balcony, which overlooks this sensational scenery. The open main living area has a beachy casual laid back appeal. Comfortable furnishings include a fashionably striped couch that doubles as a queen size sleeper sofa as well as a love seat. Decorative art throughout includes seascapes, sea life, sailboats and tropical fish that create a cheerful Floridian flair. A triple panel of sliding glass doors allows you to enjoy the stunning beach vistas while a wall mounted TV provides entertainment. Additional TVs are available in the bedroom and even the bunk bed area. There is a dining area with four bent metal chairs around a square hardwood-topped table while two more may be seated at the counter bar facing the open kitchen. An outdoor table and chairs on the balcony allows you to enjoy drinks and dining while overlooking the glistening gulf. The Master Bedroom includes a big king size bed with a decorative metal frame flanked by two end tables with unique matching lamps. A large armoire houses the flat screen TV and provides drawers for clothing.

Commodore's Retreat includes a large rectangular pool out front with a convenient sloped handicapped accessible walkway on the gulf side that runs down across the dune to the white sand beach below. This location seems like it is in a lovely world of its own yet it is just minutes away from popular restaurants as well as delightful diversions in the heart of Seagrove Beach and Seaside.

We enjoyed our time. The balcony is the absolute best part of the condo. The 2 cushioned lounge chairs made it so relaxing for morning coffee and watching dolphins or an afternoon nap. The balcony was shaded in the afternoons. The bedding was nice, and there were plenty of clean towels. The unit was clean and inviting. I definitely would rent again

We will be back

This was a mother daughter get away for us and it was the perfect space. Super easy access to the beach and having the chair service included was such a plus. We enjoyed our breakfasts and lunches from the patio.

Awesome location!

We love the Eastern Lake area being less busy. The condo was super clean, had all the amenities we needed, the beds were super comfortable, and the view from our balcony was amazing. The perfect “retreat”

For us, location and comfort is everything, when we travel to the beach. Commodore’s Retreat was the perfect location - right on the beach! Is there a bike path to Rosemary Beach?

Answer:

Scenic 30A is a 26 mile corridor that runs parallel to the Gulf of Mexico traveling through 12 quaint beach towns, Rosemary Beach included. There are bike paths and sidewalks provided on each side of the roadway for convenient transportation.
