This charming, hospitable home with four bedrooms comfortably sleeps eight carefree beach-going guests in a residential enclave south of Scenic 30A in Santa Rosa Beach. This "off the beaten path" locale is just a short stroll away from the bright sugary beach. The beauty of the beach is a given since the shimmering crystalline shoreline borders the glowing jewel-toned Gulf, but this neighborhood has another treasure. It is on the shores of a precious coastal dune lake. Natural habitats like Draper Lake are found hardly anywhere else in the entire world and support a vast abundance of wildlife. Creek-like tributaries flow in two different directions crossing coastal dunes when the tides change and mix fresh artisan spring water with the salty Gulf. This magical composition of water provides a home to varied waterfowl, salt, and freshwater fish. Besides splashing around in the gorgeous Gulf, you may want to try your luck fishing on this lake or paddleboard out to explore its rare natural beauty.
However, you don't even have to leave Southern Wind for fun since another option you have is to take a refreshing dip in its own private pool outback. The lovely pool is on the grounds that also include a nice fire pit for occasional chilly evenings. A gas grill is provided for cookouts, while a screened porch and two upper-level covered balconies overlook this beautiful setting which is particularly magical when the pool water is lighted at night. A hanging porch swing adds to the wonderfully relaxed ambiance, while an alfresco dining table provides a great entertainment experience.
This comfortable three-story home's interiors have a rich blend of milk chocolate-toned hardwood-tiled flooring in the main open living area that provides a warm, homey look. A dove grey wraparound couch offers a comfortable seating ensemble facing a flatscreen TV for entertainment. This room also adjoins one of the covered verandas that overlook the pool. A dining area nearby includes a charming café styled table assortment beside the open kitchen. A mottled granite-topped bar with a trio of black saddle-topped stools provides additional space for fun entertainment, wining, and dining. The kitchen features white cottage-styled cabinetry and brushed stainless steel appliances.
Another comfortable living space on an upper level includes a plush wraparound couch off some of the bedrooms with a flatscreen TV for evening entertainment. All bedrooms are individually decorated with cottage-style and contemporary furnishings. Two are on the second floor with a queen-sized bed in one and twin bunks for kids in the other. Another queen-sized bed is in the third-floor Master Suite, which also has direct access to a rooftop open sun deck. A lovely Guest Bedroom on this same level includes twin beds.
Although this location is in a wonderful world of its own it is surprisingly close to restaurants, bars with live music, and specialty shops. Many of them are located less than five minutes away at the Santa Rosa Beach village center of Gulf Place, which also features outdoor amphitheater concerts and fun festivals throughout the year.
