This classic two-story contemporary cottage in the captivating Blue Mountain Beach community of Blue Gulf Resort offers two bedrooms and can accommodate up to seven guests. Blue Mountain Beach, boasting the highest elevation on the Gulf of Mexico, was named by Spanish explorers in the 1500s. Mistaking the forested hills covered with blue lupine flowers for a "blue mountain" above a white "beach," the name was translated into English and stuck. Today, the village is mostly residential with a charming, Bohemian-like atmosphere inhabited by local artists. It also features popular restaurants with casual bars, an old-fashioned ice cream parlor, a delightful bakery, and Walton County's oldest health food store, "For the Health of It," which offers organic foods, spices, smoothies, and massage therapy sessions. The cottage features a columned veranda with glass doors flanked by windows off the first-floor living area and the upstairs primary suite, allowing you to enjoy the gulf breezes. The open living, dining, and kitchen areas are beautifully decorated with art, painted seascapes, marine life sculptures, nautical items, and silk flowers. A plush soft gray wraparound couch, an additional love seat, and a rectangular ottoman face a large flatscreen TV mounted on a sleek white cabinet for entertainment. A hall bath with a walk-in shower and a laundry area is also on this floor. A raised hardwood table with three bar stools sits beside a sunny window near the open kitchen bar with four raised chairs for fun wining and dining. Brushed stainless steel appliances, including a wine cooler and white custom cabinetry, provide everything needed to create culinary delights. A gas grill and two tables with chairs on a back patio invite you to enjoy outdoor cookouts and dining alfresco.

The primary bedroom upstairs features its own veranda and is decorated in crisp blue and white nautical colors. It includes a king-size bed beneath a seascape painting and faces a flatscreen TV mounted on a dresser for nighttime viewing pleasure. The private ensuite bath offers a tub-shower combination. The guest bedroom has beach-inspired furnishings, including a queen-sized bed and a desk that converts into a twin murphy bed. The nautical décor in this room includes a paddle, shelving made from a boat bow, a small surfboard, a unique painted sailor's cabinet, and a telescope. The guest quarters have access to a full hall bath with a walk-in shower.
