This classic two-story contemporary cottage in the captivating Blue Mountain Beach community of Blue Gulf Resort offers two bedrooms and can accommodate up to seven guests. Blue Mountain Beach, boasting the highest elevation on the Gulf of Mexico, was named by Spanish explorers in the 1500s. Mistaking the forested hills covered with blue lupine flowers for a "blue mountain" above a white "beach," the name was translated into English and stuck. Today, the village is mostly residential with a charming, Bohemian-like atmosphere inhabited by local artists. It also features popular restaurants with casual bars, an old-fashioned ice cream parlor, a delightful bakery, and Walton County's oldest health food store, "For the Health of It," which offers organic foods, spices, smoothies, and massage therapy sessions. This charming vacation home is within walking distance of the village amenities and a large community swimming pool with restroom facilities, a fitness center, a putting green, and shuffleboard courts.

Surf's Up has been renovated and furnished with your comfort in mind, making you feel right at home. The cottage features a columned veranda with glass doors flanked by windows off the first-floor living area and the upstairs primary suite, allowing you to enjoy the gulf breezes. These areas look out onto twin tropical palm trees, tempting you to relax with a margarita or frozen daiquiri. The open living, dining, and kitchen areas are beautifully decorated with art, painted seascapes, marine life sculptures, nautical items, and silk flowers. A plush soft gray wraparound couch, an additional love seat, and a rectangular ottoman face a large flatscreen TV mounted on a sleek white cabinet for entertainment. A hall bath with a walk-in shower and a laundry area is also on this floor. A raised hardwood table with three bar stools sits beside a sunny window near the open kitchen bar with four raised chairs for fun wining and dining. Brushed stainless steel appliances, including a wine cooler and white custom cabinetry, provide everything needed to create culinary delights. A gas grill and two tables with chairs on a back patio invite you to enjoy outdoor cookouts and dining alfresco.

The primary bedroom upstairs features its own veranda and is decorated in crisp blue and white nautical colors. It includes a king-size bed beneath a seascape painting and faces a flatscreen TV mounted on a dresser for nighttime viewing pleasure. The private ensuite bath offers a tub-shower combination. The guest bedroom has beach-inspired furnishings, including a queen-sized bed and a desk that converts into a twin murphy bed. The nautical décor in this room includes a paddle, shelving made from a boat bow, a small surfboard, a unique painted sailor's cabinet, and a telescope. The guest quarters have access to a full hall bath with a walk-in shower.

In addition to the beautiful beach and charming village amenities, this Blue Mountain Beach locale is centered on Scenic 30A, placing you just minutes away from all that this idyllic setting has to offer. The acclaimed Gulf Place village center in neighboring Santa Rosa Beach boasts excellent restaurants, friendly beach bars, specialty shops, fashion boutiques, galleries, outdoor amphitheater concerts, and fun year-round seasonal festivals. We had a great experience, house was as advertised and location was perfect.

Great location, great little place. I actually squeezed my family of 5 (3 elementary school kids) in here for a week with no issues. House was clean inside and out, i could nit-pick a few things but overall the place was great. It’s like 1-2 minute drive to the beach. IF there was absolutely no public parking available at the beach (we always found a spot) you could definitely walk to the beach in 10 minutes from this house. Santa Rosa is an awesome little beach community nestled in between much more crowded beaches. You get all the beauty of Destin beaches without the crowd, can’t recommend it enough.

Responsive company. Elizabeth was super helpful. Great property with comfortable beds. Especially loved the amount of blankets, the patio and the AC was awesome! Cutest little beach house

The house is exactly like Pictures and description. Peaceful neighborhood and the beach close by felt private and quiet. I loved that. They have a grill in the backyard for us to use. The house was clean and just enough space for our small group.

Home was perfect distance from everything!

We absolutely loved our stay at Surf’s Up! The cottage was the perfect size and in the perfect spot—just a short stroll or bike ride to the beach, shops, and restaurants, yet tucked away enough to feel peaceful and private.
