This lovely four bedroom in the Blue Mountain Beach residential enclave of Sandcastles by the Sea will embrace 12 happy beach-going guests with the wonderful charm of yesteryear. This gracious vacation home is also Pet Friendly, so feel free to bring along your favorite furry family member too! This 30A locale is just a short stroll away from the shimmering sugar-white shoreline, which was awarded Blue Wave Beach status - the nation's highest acclaim of excellence for natural beauty and pristine conditions. It also boasts having the highest elevation on the entire Gulf of Mexico. Seemingly endless views from the top of the sugary dunes across the dazzling jewel-toned waters toward the southern horizon provide a precious glimpse of heaven. Besides luxuriating in the glowing Gulf and soaking up the golden sun on the bright beach, you are just steps away from taking a refreshing dip in a lovely lagoon-shaped swimming pool out back. It features a tiled patio and a sundeck overlooking a lush lawn. A gas grill and umbrella table invite you to enjoy poolside drinks and dining.

The beautiful exterior of Sandy by the Sea with Old Florida architectural design is perfectly complemented by comfortable state of the art interior amenities. An old fashioned wraparound columned veranda overlooks the front yard bordered by a white picket fence - while a screened porch and an open balcony above invite you to relax while enjoying the balmy Gulf breeze. The "here and now" interiors are loaded with creature comforts and are fashionably up to date. An open living area is handsomely furnished with three couches that face a flatscreen TV on a charming creamy white chest. Decorative art, colorful bottles, floral prints, and sea life accouterments provide wonderful beach flourish throughout. A regal dining table with eight chairs sits beneath a vintage chandelier in a bay window nook near the Gourmet Kitchen. This state of the art kitchen features thick marzipan colored granite-topped counters. As well as two elegant raised chairs at a pass-thru bar, lots of white custom cabinetry, and brushed stainless steel appliances to fulfill all your culinary desires.

The first floor includes the convenience of a full hall bath and two comfortably furnished cottage styled Guest Bedrooms, one of which has a sunny window looking out upon the pool.  The Master Bedroom upstairs is a world unto itself spanning the entire second floor with a king-sized bed, a full en suite luxury bath, and its own screened-in porch with an adjoining open balcony. This romantic private space allows you to relax, reminisce about your fun day, and plan adventures for the rest of your stay. Your kids can go upstairs, where they will love the special third-floor hideaway that contains two full-sized beds.

Blue Mountain Beach is home to South Walton's first health food store, a local bakery, and an old fashioned creamery which are within easy walking distance. It is minutes away from a wide assortment of great restaurants, casual beach bars, specialty shops, and galleries. Concerts and seasonal festivals are hosted nearby at Santa Rosa Beach's Gulf Place as well as iconic Seaside.

First Floor: Living Room with Patio Access, Kitchen, Dining, King Bedroom, Queen Bedroom, Hall Bath with Tub/Shower Combo, Laundry.

Second Floor: King Master Bedroom with Full Sleeper Sofa and Walk-In Shower + Soaking Tub and Balcony Access.

Third Floor: Bedroom with Two Full Beds.

Everybody loved it!
We would absolutely stay here again. It suited our family perfectly. It was clean and spacious. Plenty of room to park. We loved having our own private pool. Enjoyed walking to the restaurants and ice cream places. It was perfect. I didn’t hear one complaint from my crew. Thank you for sharing your house with us.

Relaxing Family Vacation
I know some may think it’s an oxymoron to say relaxing and family in the same sentence, but this truly was! The house was beautiful and fit our adult family well. The closeness to the beach, walking paths and private pool were a dream! The cowgirl kitchen and Irish pub added elements of nearby entertainment and variety. The short drive to Destin allowed us to capture a dolphin tour and the Boathouse Oyster bar two of our favorite stops! I highly recommend this location.

Is there options for beach rental on this beach?

Yes, during the season, there is an option to rent chairs and umbrellas on the shore. Once you reserve your vacation with us, you will receive their contact details. 

How far is it to the beach? Is there a golf cart?

Sandy By The Sea is about a 3-4 minute walk to the Blue Mountain Beach Regional Access. This beach access includes parking, restrooms, a wash station, and lifeguards during peak times of the year. Sandy By The Sea does not include a golf cart, but you may rent one through any of these preferred golf cart vendors.

Are pets (one dog) allowed at this property?

Yes - Sandy By The Sea is a pet-friendly vacation home. For an additional fee per pet, up to two dogs (40 pounds or less) are allowed at designated pet-friendly properties.

Is there a Keurig coffee maker or a regular coffee maker?

Keurig coffee makers are provided in all Ocean Reef properties to help get your beach day started. Don't forget your favorite K-Cups!

Are hair dryers provided?

Hair dryers are not provided. You may also want to pack additional disposable goods and specialty kitchen items such as spices, aluminum foil, sandwich bags, etc.

Are bikes included?

Sandy By The Sea does not include complimentary bikes, but you can most certainly rent them! As an Ocean Reef guest, you have exclusive access to discounted bike rentals through our Reef Rewards program.

Is smoking allowed outside rental?

Answer:

All Ocean Reef properties are non-smoking only, with the exception of exterior common areas. This includes the driveway, pool deck, etc. We ask that you please dispose of all cigarette butts accordingly and do not leave them on the ground or on patio furniture.
