Like that old classic Beatles song once said, "Here comes the sun" and "it's alright!" Your stay here in this gracious vacation home will be more than just alright - it will be great! This four-bedroom home can sleep 12 happy-go-lucky beachgoers. It has a superb location in Dune Allen Beach, which serves as the western gateway to all that Scenic 30A in South Walton has to offer. However, this hospitable rental home is tucked away in a wonderful world of its own beside Stallworth Lake and the vast forested acres of the Topsail Hill Preserve State Park. This coastal dune lake is quite precious since such exotic bodies of water are found hardly anywhere else in the world. A creek-like tributary flows in and out of the Gulf, creating a salted freshwater that supports an abundance of fish, birds, and wildlife. This home is on it's shore, and the serene lake can be seen from the house. Many folks kayak or paddleboard on the water and go fishing. You may wade in the tributary that flows in two directions and take a long walk down the remote beach beside its towering dunes.

Here Comes the Sun, set beside live oaks and palms, has a contemporary Floridian styling that includes plantation shutters. The main living area is white and bright with pale hardwood flooring that has a beach washed look. A white cross beamed ceiling provides a special accent above. Sliding glass doors offer a view of the lovely lake and beckon you to go out on the covered wrap-around veranda that has comfortable furnishings. Columns are draped with white linen curtains providing a tropical ambiance while you enjoy the gulf breezes. A white love seat and accent chair have these views, as well as a wall-mounted flatscreen TV. A charming white cottage styled dining table has four chairs, and a cream cloth draped bench for seating. More may be seated for drinks and snacks at the white marble-topped kitchen bar nearby that has plenty of custom cabinetry to satisfy all your culinary needs.

The Master Bedroom is located on the first floor with a king-sized bed with a rustic headboard, a beach-inspired dresser, and a flatscreen TV for entertainment. A luxurious en suite bath includes a soaking tub as well as a separate walk-in shower. A half bath serves as a powder room off the living area.

A nice den provides an extra living area off the three Guest Bedrooms and has access to an upper-level viewing deck. It has comfortable, attractive furnishings that include a big couch and accent armchair that face a flatscreen TV mounted above a beachy credenza. One Guest Bedroom has a king-sized bed and cottage styled furnishings with a wall-mounted flatscreen TV. The two other guest quarters are convenient bunk rooms that have a clean, crisp appearance. One includes a queen bunk while the other has two twin bunks. A large full bath with a big walk-in shower and double vanities serve the upstairs guest quarters.

When not at the beach, exploring the lake or fishing, you'll find restaurants, bars, shops, outdoor concerts, and seasonal festivals minutes away throughout South Walton and in nearby Destin.

First Floor: Living Room with Screened Porch Access, Kitchen, Dining, King Master Bedroom, Hall Bath with Walk-In Shower and Soaking Tub, Powder Room with Laundry.

Second Floor: Bonus Den with Balcony Access, King Bedroom with Balcony Access, Bunk Room with Queen Bunk, Bunk Room with Two Twin Bunks, Hall Bath with Walk-In Shower.

Great Family Location!

Here Comes the Sun was a wonderful spot for our family getaway! The location is peaceful and scenic—tucked beside a lake and just a short walk to the beach. Absolutely Stunning Home

This home felt very private and secluded. The color schemes and furniture throughout the house are peaceful and the space is light and airy. The house is situated on a coastal dune lake and the outdoor porches provide an incredible view of the sunset over the lake. Across the neighborhood street is a private beach that guests have access to. We were approached by a friendly volunteer who wanted to ensure we were staying nearby as there is a rope dividing the private beach from the public state park, but aside from this we had no issues accessing and enjoying the neighborhood beach. The house was in immaculate condition when we arrived and I must give a shoutout to the cleaning crew because it was spotless. Communication was excellent between staff and the check-in and check-out process couldn't have been more simple. We plan on returning to "Here Comes the Sun" as soon as possible and plan on renting through Ocean Reef again. Very impressed and thankful for such a great experience! Thank you!!

Beautiful view, but bring your own kayaks

30A is beautiful but has gotten so crowded. Stallworth Lake is a special area because it borders a state park, so paddling across the lake to the beach gives you access to an almost private beach. Sadly this rental did not provide access to the multiple kayaks in the storage area. Be prepared to purchase or rent a kayak/canoe if you stay here.

What is the closest beach access?

Answer:

The Beach Highlands Neighborhood Beach Access is located on Highland Avenue right outside the gates of Stallworth Preserve subdivision on Stallworth Lake. It is a quick one to two minute walk away from the home. Pro tip - walk west a bit past Stallworth Lake and you find yourself on the beaches of the incredible Topsail Hill Preserve State Park!

Here Comes The Sun is a wonderful lakefront home on 30A, but does not include these items complimentary. Being an Ocean Reef guest, you can rent paddleboards at a discounted rate. Enjoy!

We love our dogs here at Ocean Reef, however - Here Comes The Sun is a non-pet-friendly home. If you are unable to board your pup, you may want to consider one of these Pet Friendly Rentals.
