When it comes to dining while on a beach vacation in Destin, what are some of the things you look for? If you’re anything like us, high-quality seafood, great service, and a view of the water are at the top of the list. The Edge Seafood Restaurant in Destin has all of these and more! It’s a newer establishment that overlooks the Destin Harbor. And if you haven’t yet dined here (or even heard of it), we highly recommend checking it out!

What’s so great about this fabulous water restaurant and bar, you ask? Well, everything really!

First, the award-winning views. With its prime location at 302 Harbor Blvd on the harbor, The Edge features two levels of outdoor seating. It was literally built on the water, so you get a true “waterfront” experience. It boasts 180-degree views of the shimmering harbor from midday through evening. With this one-of-a-kind setting, there’s no better spot to watch a fiery beach sunset while sipping your favorite cocktail. In fact, The Edge was even voted by locals as the “Best Outdoor Dining” and “Best Place to Have Cocktails” in the 2023 Best in Destin awards.

The Edge Seafood Restaurant

On the ground level, you’ll find the main restaurant. It’s a walk-up-and-order style joint with really great food. The authentic Florida cuisine uses fresh and locally sourced ingredients. With dishes that are upscale yet laid-back, the menu has options for everyone in the family. When it comes to hot appetizers and small plates, you might want to try the Oysters Anastasia, Sauteed Blue-Crab Claws, Shrimp Ceviche, Duck Jalapeno Poppers, or the Spinach Artichoke Dip. Fan-favorite entrees include the Gulf Coast Snapper, Seafood Celebration Boil, and Seafood Pappardelle. If you’re not into seafood, don’t worry, there are a variety of burgers, chicken, salads, and other non-fish options for you too.

We went to The Edge for dinner with our bachelorette party. We had a great time. We ordered our food, which arrived quickly for 15 people, and ate out on the deck. The view was great. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly.

The SkyBar at The Edge

If you’d rather enjoy your meal in the adults-only section of the restaurant, head up the stairs to the SkyBar at The Edge. Set high above the water, this rooftop bar features awe-inspiring views of the harbor, the Gulf of Mexico, and East Pass. The views, lounge seating, pendant lighting, and fire pit create a relaxed vibe. At the SkyBar, you can purchase signature cocktails and shareable small plates to enjoy with your crew while taking in the views. If you want to catch the sunset from here—which we definitely recommend—be sure to come early to grab your seat. Once the sun goes down over the water, they’ll light up the fire pit and lights for the perfect evening ambiance. And let’s not forget to mention the live music from talented musicians on the Gulf Coast. Honestly, is there anything better than great views, cold drinks, good food, and live music?

This place is a hidden gem. There is a great view of the harbor from the 2nd level, the food is amazing, and the cocktails are both delicious and imaginative. I was very surprised there weren't more people here even though it was a weekday night. Do yourself a favor and make this a must do for your Destin vacation.
