Which Airlines Fly to Destin?

Allegiant, American, Delta, Southwest, United, & More!

You are here

Destin has been a traditional “drive to” destination for many years due to its close proximity to cities throughout the southeast and the former lack of airline connections. It only takes about a five or six-hour drive from places like Atlanta, which is less than a day’s drive away. In relatively recent years many airline connections have been established as Destin is starting to become a household name due to our bright white beaches, glowing emerald green waters, and abundant natural beauty. This allows folk from far-flung places to get here quickly by air. Destin is served by three major airports which now include many direct and nonstop flights so you can get here in hardly any time at all.

Destin - Fort Walton Beach Airport

Destin - Fort Walton Airport Airlines
The closest airport to Destin is the award-winning Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport, formerly known as Northwest Florida Regional Airport. It is across the bay and only a twenty to thirty-minute drive from Destin proper. Almost one million passengers use this airport every year to come visit our shimmering shores. The expansive 110,000 square foot terminal has vaulted ceilings with multiple skylights that provide a welcoming, spacious sunny look. A unique, colorful terrazzo map is inlaid onto the main foyer flooring that creatively displays all of Choctawhatchee Bay, Ft. Walton Beach, Destin and the Gulf. Over 50 nonstop flights arrive here daily from national hub cities in the height of the season. The following airlines have direct or nonstop flights into this airport:

Allegiant Airlines: Nonstop flights from Memphis & Knoxville, Tennessee; Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Charlotte, North Carolina; Dallas, Texas; St. Louis, Missouri; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Cincinnati, Ohio.

American Airlines: Flights from Dallas, Texas; Charlotte, North Carolina and Washington DC (seasonally).

Delta Airlines: Nonstop flights from Atlanta, Georgia.

GLO Airlines: Flights from New Orleans, Louisiana and Little Rock, Arkansas.

United Airlines: Nonstop flights from Houston, Texas.

Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport

Affectionately known as Beaches International this state of the art airport opened eight years ago and is one of the newest international airports in the nation. It received numerous accolades as the first “green” airport in the country for land conservation and preservation. The 125,000 square foot terminal building has seven gates, state of the art security, quick baggage delivery systems and WIFI throughout. The 1,400 acres of beautiful forested grounds around it includes large open areas with 10,000 linear foot runways that can accommodate giant Airbus flights from Europe in the future. This airport has the closest location to our vacation rentals in Panama City Beach, along Scenic 30A in South Walton, and Miramar Beach.

The following airlines fly directly into this international airport:

Allegiant Airlines: Nonstop flights from St. Louis, Missouri.

Delta Airlines: Nonstop flights from Atlanta, Georgia.
