1. Spear Fishing
Destin has a remarkable reputation for having abundant catches of fish that goes back over 150 years. The titled acclaim as the "World's Luckiest Fishing Village" is well deserved. 3. Scuba Diving a Shipwreck
Many artificial reefs have been created along the coast of the Florida Panhandle to provide a welcome habitat for all the flourishing fish. The Florida Division of Historical Resources has a list of twelve sites that are spread out from Pensacola to Panama City Beach. One of the most popular is right off the coast from Destin called "Miss Louise." This large Push Tug was deliberately sunk in 1997 into sixty feet of clear water that makes it easily accessible to both novice and intermediate divers. Although the upper works of this vessel have been somewhat flattened over the years, there is still plenty to explore. This well-established site is home to Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel, Cobia, Snapper, Flounder, Barracuda and a number of colorful tropical fish. Sometimes Goliath Grouper and Whale Sharks may be spotted. A highly rated local company called Scuba Tech provides diving trips, instruction and equipment rentals. 4. Kiteboarding
