Amalfi Coast and Alerio are condo complexes located on Scenic Gulf Drive in Destin's Miramar Beach. As neighboring condominiums, both overlook the Emerald Coast's shimmering shores. Each offers incredible amenities for vacationers and convenient beach access. Because they're neighbors, both condos place guests near a variety of coastal fun in the Miramar Beach area—including Silver Sands Premium Outlets, the Village of Baytowne Wharf, Grand Boulevard, and other popular restaurants, shops, and vacation experiences.

So, what are the differences, and which should you choose when booking a Destin beach vacation? Well, it depends on what you're looking for in your coastal getaway!

Here, we'll explore the differences between Amalfi Coast and Alerio. We even had our expert staff weigh-in to get a clear picture of the differences and benefits of both complexes. This way, you can make the decision based on your vacation preferences!

Amalfi Coast

Amalfi Coast Destin

Amalfi Coast is a gated, low-rise condo retreat. The spacious rentals feature open floorplans, sliding glass doors with patio or balcony access, and Gulf views. Properties include one to three bedrooms and can accommodate anywhere from five to ten visitors. Each condo unit is uniquely furnished and decorated, but all give off a laid-back ambiance that is key for a memorable beach vacation.

The complex is designed in a half-circle around lushly landscaped grounds, a sparkling lagoon, and two refreshing swimming pools. A pedestrian bridge crosses the lagoon, leading towards public beach access. The pools are surrounded by a sun-soaked, paver patio that is studded with palm trees. Lounge chairs and sun umbrellas create a perfect, lazy atmosphere for sunbathing, reading a book, enjoying a poolside meal, and more. According to Cameron in Reservations,

Amalfi Coast has one of the best resort-style pool areas in the panhandle. The palm trees give it a Caribbean vibe.

Alex in Marketing also loves the two mega pools in the middle of the resort, adding,

Every unit is equal distance to the pool, and almost every unit has a Gulf view. Plus, the massive paver stone fire pit is practically poolside.

Amalfi Coast Resort

As a popular getaway, it's no surprise that Amalfi Coast also offers a variety of other great vacation amenities. These include tennis courts, an on-site fitness facility, and a lot of parking. Alex had nothing but praise for the Amalfi Coast amenities. Though he likes Alerio, he feels that Amalfi Coast is the way to go for vacation. In addition to the pools and tennis courts, Alex says,

Parking is the real kicker. You have more parking available at the Amalfi Coast, which means you don't have to ride to Florida with the whole family in one car.

For big vacation groups, this can be a major plus! Amalfi Coast is larger than the neighboring Alerio and has a few more amenities, but if you're looking for a smaller, more intimate type of vacation, then Alerio might be the place for you.

Alerio

Like the Amalfi Coast, Alerio is a low-rise and low-density condo complex with a gated entrance. In contrast to the resort-style vibe of Amalfi Coast, Alerio offers a quieter, more intimate getaway experience. Rentals range from two to three bedrooms, and the living accommodations are spacious with rich hardwood floors and upscale lighting. Every unit has its own breezy balcony. Because it is the newest condo community built in the area, Alerio boasts modern features and luxury designs. Ivan in Guest Services applauded the modernness of the complex, saying,

It has an appealing coastal color appearance from the outside, and when you step inside one of the units, you have everything you need to feel like you're in a mini beach house—granite countertops, nice flooring, walk-in showers, and soaking tubs to relax in after a long day at the beach.

The complex grounds themselves are tropically landscaped with palms and coastal flowers and shrubs. Alerio amenities include a sparkling swimming pool, hot tub, expansive sundeck, and picnic area with BBQ grills. There is even a patio with a geyser for the kids to splash around and play in.

When it comes to booking a vacation at the Alerio, it is perfect for smaller groups or a couple's escape. As Ivan said,

To me, if you are looking for a couple's getaway or a single-family trip, Alerio would be my choice!

Nelson in Reservations agreed, saying,

As Alerio is a smaller, less-dense version of Amalfi Coast, it is great for small trips. It offers nightly rentals for short weekend getaways or business trips.

Amalfi Coast Guests

If you're planning a Destin vacation, don't overlook the Amalfi Coast or Alerio in Miramar Beach. Though neighbors, each offers a unique vacation experience, and one of these might be the perfect place to book for your stay. No matter which you choose, you will still enjoy convenient access to the beach, as well as other coastal amusements. Like Ivan says, when you stay at the Amalfi Coast or Alerio,

You are surrounded by local entertainment and golf courses. If you like the nightlife scene, the nearby Village Door Music Hall has a full bar and hosts concerts, stand-up comedy, and other events.

Browse availability and book your stay at one of these great Destin condos soon!
