Due to popular demand sprouting from our post on our travel blog from earlier this week (3 Popular Destin Harbor Restaurants) we are writing about 3 more popular restaurants that are located on Destin Harbor. Although many of our guests enjoy the convenience of "dining in", (since nearly all of our distinctive private vacation rentals feature full kitchens and dining areas), it is also a lot of fun to "dine out." After all, you are on vacation and fresh caught Destin seafood is a local treasure!
Three of the newest and best restaurants to grace the Destin Harbor scene are the Crab Island Cantina, Jackacuda's and Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville. They are all located at Harborwalk Village which is a delightful attraction all by itself since it hosts a myriad of seasonal festivals, free musical concerts and regular firework celebrations.
Destin Harbor's Crab Island Cantina serves sensational Mexican inspired seafood and has a marvelous open patio centered with a gorgeous cascading fountain that is right on the water near the Destin Bridge. Their menu includes fresh Ceviche, unique Chili Pablano Crab or fresh Grouper Enchiladas, award winning Fajitas, Mexican Street Tacos and even Black Angus steaks. A huge selection of Tequila, Margaritas and other frozen Tropical Drinks create a festive atmosphere complete with live musicians that play everything from Jazz to Reggae to Latin beats.
The nearly brand new Jackacuda's was started by a local sea captain who has fished the abundant gulf waters out of the Destin Harbor for many years. Besides superb fresh caught seafood they also serve an amazing variety of dishes that include colorful west coast inspired sushi, Oriental BBQ and "comfort food" that features a variety of Southern styled home cooking. Their chefs capture an abundance of culinary cuisine inspired from different parts of the globe and create truly imaginative entrees. They take great pride in serving food that is locally grown and organic as well as providing diners with true dedicated service. Patrons at Jackacuda's on the Destin Harbor are treated as more than a customer, they are special guest. Here friendly Southern Hospitality is a creed for their gracious staff who will make you feel not only well fed but also sincerely welcomed.
Jimmy Buffet's famous Margaritaville has recently opened right on the docks at the old Lucky Snapper restaurant that had been on the Destin Harbor many years. The building was completely remodeled to include more open space with glass walls and a covered open deck that takes full advantage of this awesome site. You are "up front and center" with spectacular views of East Pass, Holiday Isle and both ends of the bustling harbor. Although it just opened a couple of months ago it has already received almost 14,000 "Likes" on Facebook from happy visitors. Like Buffet's other restaurants it features a laid back Tropical atmosphere as well as a friendly nightlife with live music and dancing. Along with their famous Margaritas other favorite frozen concoctions the food served is mostly a Caribbean island inspired seafood cuisine.
