This self-made wonder woman is centered in Savannah, Georgia where she got her start catering as “The Bag Lady” years ago which morphed into “The Lady and Sons” restaurant and has now established wonderful Paula Deen restaurants in six other places throughout the south. This restaurant in Destin will be her seventh. Paula Deen serves southern food at its best.

Destin Commons is thrilled to have her become a restaurant resident and issued the following statement:

“Paula Deen’s team delivers quality food, service and ambiance at a great value so we’re excited to have them here especially with occasional appearances by Paula Deen and their exhibition kitchen which is a replica of Paula Deen’s kitchen in her home.”

Paula Deen said she was looking forward to bringing her newest restaurant to fans in Florida and responded: “Together we will provide a truly memorable experience to folks who enjoy delicious Southern comfort food, Southern hospitality, and great entertainment.”

The restaurant is open daily from 11:00 am till 4:00 pm for lunch and 4:00 pm till 10:00 pm for dinner. The restaurant also includes her retail store, which is open from 10:00 am till 10:00 pm to celebrate Savannah’s rich cultural culinary heritage. It features popular Paula Deen cookbooks, her own line of cookware, helpful kitchen gadgets, and gourmet goodies.

Both her lunch and dinner menus offer “Grandmamma Paul’s Fried Green Tomatoes” with a roasted pepper sauce and sweet onion relish; “Flash Fried Okra” soaked in buttermilk then dredged in flour and “Shore is Good Seafood Dip” described as having a bubbling hot creaminess with shrimp and blue crab.
