Gulfstrand Down on 30A's Grayton Beach

This vacation residence is part of a duplex that has one "up" and one "down." Each unit has three bedrooms and accommodates nine guests, making it possible to have a big beach reunion all in separate quarters. It is located in the charming village center of Grayton Beach. This locale is very close to the beautiful beach, the jeweled waters of the gulf and has plenty of delightful diversions nearby.

The sugary shoreline and luminescent waters of the gulf adjoin Grayton Beach State Park. Forbes Magazine recently reported it was one of the most beautiful beaches in America after a nationwide study. Western Lake borders the village and is a precious treasure. This coastal dune lake is a rare natural phenomenon, found in very few places on Earth. These brackish lakes provide a habitat for abundant wildlife including loads of fish, fowl and native plants. Besides lounging on the beach and floating around in the gulf, you can catch fish or explore the lake on a kayak. You are right across the street from a 30' x 24 community pool. The patio is adorned with palms to provide a relaxing poolside setting.

Recent renovations in Gulfstrand Down include fresh interior paint, remodeled bathrooms, new kitchen appliances, custom cabinetry and granite countertops. It features new living room furniture as well as comfortable bedding along with TV's in the living area and master bedroom. A wide covered veranda that overlooks the village street, the community pool, and the distant gulf. A picnic table allows you to sip drinks and munch on tasty snacks while enjoying the breezy views. The bright open living area has a light gray couch that doubles as a queen sized sleeper sofa with memory foam mattress and a love seat. A large wall-mounted TV sits above a beachy side accent table. A white picnic dining table near the open kitchen has six light blue wooden chairs with crisscross decorative backs for fun casual meals. Three vintage modern plastic stools saddle up to mottled malt tone granite-topped bar where favorite drinks and savory snacks may be easily served. The kitchen features stainless steel appliances for creating culinary delights.

Two cottage styled Guest Rooms share a full hall bath with a twin and full sized bed in one and a queen in the other. They each have access to a sunny deck. The Master Bedroom has two bright windows, a charming queen-sized bed, and en-suite bath.

The Grayton Beach village center is a short stroll away and features a unique decorative arts center and two restaurants. The Zoo Gallery features vibrant decorative pieces from select artisans nationwide. Chiringo serves Spanish style tapas and drinks. The famous Red Bar where celebrities are sometimes seen provides excellent dining and tropical drinks with live music. Picturesque coastal villages along South Walton's Scenic 30A places you minutes away from a wide array of other restaurants, friendly beach bars, specialty shops, concerts and seasonal festivals.

The community pool is typically heated during fall, holiday weeks, and spring break, but is based on the daily temperature and HOA discretion.

Perfect Location

The location was great, with a short walk down the boardwalk to the beach. The rental was clean and had everything we needed. We also enjoyed the heated outdoor pool after time spent on the beach. Ocean Reef was very responsive and overall we had a great experience.

Great spot! I really enjoyed the space.

Cottage St. is my favorite place to stay in Grayton, having done so many times. Proximity to the beach and restaurants is perfect. The neighboring families that vacation here the same time every year are awesome as well. While it's a quiet street there's just enough activity from those families to feel like an established cul-de-sac. Unit has a great layout and I think I will definitely stay in this unit again. Something to note is the limited parking, even during the Spring, so there is only room for one vehicle near the unit.

Just perfect

Everything was as pictured/described- an easy walk to the beach, pool was just across the gravel road. We didn’t get in our car the whole time we were there- walked to dinner or took the trolley. Just the getaway we were hoping for :)

Is this a first floor unit with the second floor also being rented? How is the noise level?

Answer:

Correct! Gulfstrand Down is a private first-floor section of the home, while Gulfstrand Up is the second-floor portion that can also be rented. You might meet your neighbors, but we have had no noise complaints from previous guests.

I see that there is only 1 parking space. Can we rent an additional parking space?

Gulfstrand Down is allotted parking for one vehicle only. First come, first serve parking is available on Banfill Rd. in front of community pool. If additional parking is needed, you can find options for overnight parking here.

Can I rent Gulfstrand Down for less than a week?

The majority of our properties reserve on a weekly basis from Saturday to Saturday - as do most here along the coast. Once we are within 30 days from your arrival date, we can typically become flexible with this date restriction. To check on a different set of dates, please give us a call. We'd love to help!

How much would it be to heat the pool?

We love our dogs here at Ocean Reef, however - Gulfstrand Down is a non-pet-friendly home. If you are unable to board your pup, you may want to consider one of these Pet Friendly Rentals.

Can you rent a golf cart at this house? How far is the walk to the beach?

Gulfstrand Down has ample parking for one vehicle only. Unfortunately, there would be nowhere to park a golf cart. The good news is the beach is less than a one-minute walk away!

The beach access is less than a one-minute walk from the property due south of Cottage Street. Don't forget the sunscreen!

Are sunshades or pop up canopies allowed on the beach?

Personal chairs, umbrellas, tents, and canopies are permitted on the beach. Please note that tents and canopies can be at most 10x10 in size and must be set up behind all beach chairs and umbrellas.
