Ocean Reef Resorts is pleased to inform you that the picturesque villages along South Walton's Scenic 30A have announced several free summer concert series for 2015. They will be held in Santa Rosa Beach at Gulf Place, Watercolor, Seaside and Alys Beach. We happen to have gorgeous beachfront homes and luxurious condominium rentals nearby everywhere throughout South Walton and neighboring Destin. These accommodations range from studios to multitudes of bedrooms so you may pick whichever suits you best. Big beach homes are available for family or friend reunions while smaller properties may be perfect for a special intimate romantic rendezvous.
Every visit along Scenic 30A to any of these scenic towns is a meaningful memorable event since it has an esteemed double distinction. The state selected this route as a one of a favored few Florida Scenic Highways due to its sensational scenery and it meanders beside shores designated as a Blue Wave Beach which is the nation's highest honor for cleanliness and beauty.
Each "village" is distinctively different however they all share one thing in common by being picture perfect in every way! Gulf Place serves as Santa Rosa Beach's town center. It sits high above a sugary dune overlooking the dazzling jewel toned waters of the gulf. Charming Old Florida styled buildings are clustered around a town green with retail shops, wine bistros and restaurants. Watercolor also has an Old Florida design and is completed in an upscale fashion. This location next to the award winning Grayton Beach State Park sits beside an exotic coastal dune lake that is sandwiched in between a vast forest and the wide open expanses of the gulf. Seaside has an iconic distinction, it's internationally known as the first preplanned community to usher in "New Urbanism" with pedestrian friendly architectural design. It was the first of these towns to be completed back in the 1980s and sits nestled beside the sugary white beach. A sloping lovely lawn serves as an outside amphitheater surrounded by quaint retail boutiques, art galleries, restaurants, bars and unique eateries. Alys Beach is the most recent village to be developed and is only ten years young. This extraordinarily affluent residential community is all in white stucco resembling the kind of place you might find on the Mediterranean Sea.
Scenic 30A concert series occur at all four of these delightful destinations throughout the entire summer and is free of charge to the public. You are invited to bring your blanket, lawn chairs, picnic baskets and beverages to enjoy these live musical performances under the stars.
Seaside will have the initial kick off of these free summer musical concert series beginning on Saturday May 23rd which coincides with the long Memorial Day Weekend. It starts at 7:00 pm and runs until 9:00 pm at the Amphitheater. Seaside is not only the first to host these wonderful musical events, they will have the longest season. After this special Saturday kickoff event, Seaside will hold these concerts every Wednesday evening thru Labor Day. The last performance will also be on a Saturday on September 5th for Labor Day Weekend. Picnic items and beverages will be available from a wide assortment restaurants as well as charming vendors who operate out of old fashioned Airstream Trailers around the green. The Seaside Summer Concert Series is as follows: Saturday May 23rd Cereus Bright; Wednesday June 3rd Guthrie Brown & The Family Tree, June 10th Swear & Shake, June 17th Caleb Hawley and June 24th John & Jacob; July 1st The Shadow Boxers, July 8th Alanna Royale, July 15th Great Peacock, July 22nd Humming House and July 29th The Mulligan Brothers; August 5th Elliot Root, August 12th Forrest Williams, August 19th Daniel Ellsworth & The Great Lakes and August 26th MamaDear. On Saturday September 5th the last performance will be held featuring Ryan Kinder.

Alys Beach will be hosting their musical events at the Alys Beach amphitheater which is located right off 30A. The first concert is Wednesday night on May 27th between 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at Piper's Food Truck which will be on site. The Alys Beach concerts will be held every Wednesday evening thru mid August. The line up schedule is as follows: May 27th The Currys; June 7th Forrest Williams Band, June 10th Blue Ribbon Healers, June 17th Owsley Brothers and June 24th Cadillac Willy; July 1st Courtyard Saints, July 8th Continuum, July 15th Daphne Willis, July 22nd Bo Springs Band and July 22nd Hotel Oscar; August 5th Roman Street and August 12th Heritage.

Watercolor will begin their summer concert series on Monday June 1st and will continue every Monday evening thru July 27th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. These concerts will be held at Watercolor's Marina Park which sits right on the shores of Western Lake. Besides picnicking, enjoying your favorite drinks and listening to great music you may watch the heavenly colors of sunset reflected mirror like in the water beside you. The schedule is as follows: June 1st Sonic Boom, June 8th The Cooties, June 15th Marc Kraul, June 22nd Calypso Nuts and June 29th Natalie Reynolds Band; July 13th Marc Kraul encore performance, July 20th Civilized Natives and July 27th The Cooties encore performance.

Santa Rosa Beach will begin their summer music concert series at Gulf Place on Sunday June 7th. These concerts will be held at the Gulf Place Amphitheater every Sunday evening from 6 to 8pm. This expansive grassy lawn amphitheater is ringed by several restaurants and bars so that food will be available nearby if you don't bring your own picnic provisions. Their 2015 30A summer concert series is as follows: June 7th Casey Kearney Band, June 14th Chronic Jester, June 21st Emerald Gold Band and June 28th Whyte Noise; July 5th Dismal Creek, July 12th Old Truck Bluegrass Band, July 19th Red Idle Rejects and July 26th Cadillac Willy; August 2nd Tony Vegas, August 9th Neil Dover and August 16th Fearless Heights.
Many of these phenomenal bands are have been around for awhile and have a popular following among both 30A locals and visitors alike. They represent all modes of music including Rock, Country, Bluegrass, Jazz and everything in between. Pick your favorite (or favorites!) and coincide your next visit down in South Walton with the fun free festive concert that appeals to you most.
