From Destin to 30A, Independence Day is one of the most sought-after times to visit — and it's easy to see why. The warm Gulf breeze, the sparkle of fireworks over the water, and the joyful sounds of families reconnecting all add up to something unforgettable. It's no wonder our Ocean Reef guests return year after year to celebrate the Fourth of July along the Emerald Coast.
This year, our vacation rentals are completely booked for the holiday, but it's never too early to start planning for next summer. If the 4th of July is on your family's must-do list, we recommend reserving your 2026 stay now to secure your favorite home or condo before it's gone.

Whether you're dreaming about next year's getaway or soaking up the summer vibes from afar, here's everything you need to know about where the magic happens when the sky lights up.
July 4th Snapshot: Where to Celebrate on the Emerald Coast

- Destin Commons – A July 3rd celebration featuring the Star-Spangled Food Truck Festival and fireworks at 9:15 PM.
- The Village of Baytowne Wharf – Live music, kids' activities, and the "Red, White, and Baytowne" fireworks over the lagoon at 9:15 PM.

- Alys Beach – An elegant celebration with live music and fireworks over the town’s signature amphitheater lawn at 9:00 PM.
HarborWalk Village & City of Destin

Welcome to the heart of the action! HarborWalk Village sits right on the Destin Harbor and delivers pure Americana charm — complete with stunning views of the East Pass, boats bobbing in the water, and the emerald-toned Gulf beyond.
This bustling boardwalk is alive with restaurants, zip-lining, live music, and fireworks throughout the summer. But on the 4th of July, HarborWalk turns up the volume.
The City of Destin will host its annual fireworks display at 9:00 PM over Destin Harbor. Festivities at HarborWalk Village kick off at 6:00 PM with live music, a fire-spinning show, and a vibrant party vibe. The fireworks are best viewed from the harbor, the beach, or even from the comfort of your Ocean Reef vacation rental on nearby Holiday Isle.
Pro tip: HarborWalk also lights up the sky every Thursday night during summer — so you can keep the celebration going all week long.
Destin Commons

Think open-air shopping meets small-town charm — Destin Commons is where the 4th of July celebrations begin early.
On the evening of July 3rd, enjoy the Star-Spangled Food Truck Festival, starting at 5:00 PM. Dozens of local food trucks will serve everything from savory street eats to sweet treats. Live music sets the tone for the fireworks at 9:15 PM.
With family-friendly amenities like a splash pad, shaded walkways, and whimsical fountains, it's a celebration that appeals to all ages. And with Ocean Reef properties nearby in Crystal Beach and Destiny, you're never far from the fun.
Village of Baytowne Wharf

Located on the bayside of the Sandestin Gulf& Beach Resort, Baytowne Wharf feels like a coastal postcard come to life. French Quarter-style buildings line cobblestone walkways, and the village hums with music, laughter, and timeless charm.
On July 4th, Baytowne Wharf hosts “Red, White, and Baytowne” — a full day of patriotic festivities. Enjoy live music from 7:00 PM to 9:15 PM, kids' crafts, face painting, balloon art, and more. The fireworks show begins at 9:15 PM over the lagoon.
Guests staying on the resort can catch it all with ease — and if you're staying on the Gulf side, complimentary trams make getting around simple. Baytowne also hosts weekly fireworks every “Boomin’ Tuesday,” so the sparkle doesn’t stop on the 4th.
Sandestin Hilton

For a serene yet stunning experience, the Hilton at Sandestin hosts one of the area’s most breathtaking Gulf-front fireworks displays, launching at 9:00 PM and lighting up the shoreline in a colorful 10-minute show.
While Hilton access is limited to registered hotel guests on the 4th, the fireworks are visible from nearby beaches and Ocean Reef rentals on the Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort. Grab a blanket, bring some snacks, and settle in for a dazzling display along the shoreline.
Grayton Beach

The parade begins at 8:30 AM, with lineup at 8:00 AM on the corner of Magnolia and DeFuniak Street. No registration required — just decorate your golf cart, bike, scooter, or yourself, and join the fun.
The route passes iconic spots like The Red Bar and Chiringo, and right in front of our Ocean Reef Resorts office at 15 Pine Street — where we’ll be handing out drinks, snacks, and party favors for guests. It’s the most fun you can have before 9 AM!
Seaside

Few places do small-town patriotism like Seaside. This iconic 30A village is known for its pastel cottages, scenic green, and signature architecture — and it throws one of the area’s most beloved July 4th celebrations.
Expect live music at the Seaside Amphitheater, with the Sinfonia Gulf Coast Pops Concert starting at 7:00 PM. Then, at 8:30 PM, fireworks launch from a barge anchored in the Gulf — visible all along the beach.
Parking is limited and pricey, but there's a solution: free parking at the Shops of Grayton with a shuttle running from County 283. Ocean Reef guests in Grayton are just minutes from the show.
Alys Beach

Elegant, pristine, and unlike anywhere else — Alys Beach is where fireworks meet refined coastal beauty. This visually striking town is known for its white-washed architecture, palm-lined streets, and quiet sophistication.
On July 4th, the village’s central amphitheater lawn becomes the gathering spot for an unforgettable evening. Live music begins at 6:00 PM, often featuring top regional bands like the Bay Kings Band or Ascension. As the sun sets, guests settle in on blankets and chairs beneath the stars, awaiting the 9:00 PM fireworks show.
Located just steps from the Ocean Reef office in Seacrest Beach, Alys offers a quieter, more luxurious celebration — perfect for those seeking a peaceful but dazzling Fourth of July. Rentals nearby make it easy to enjoy the celebration on foot.
