Fourth of July celebrations across Destin, Miramar Beach, Sandestin, and Scenic 30A.

Posted on 6/23/2026By the Ocean Reef Editorial Team

Each year, we update this guide with the latest Fourth of July fireworks, events, and local tips for celebrating in Destin and along the Emerald Coast.

On Saturday, July 4, 2026, fireworks will light up Destin Harbor at approximately 9:00 p.m.—but along the Emerald Coast, the celebration begins long before the first burst of color reaches the sky.

This year marks America’s 250th birthday, and Destin, Miramar Beach, Sandestin, and Scenic 30A are preparing for an Independence Day filled with waterfront concerts, decorated golf carts, family festivals, patriotic flyovers, and fireworks reflected across the Gulf. From the lively harbor celebration at HarborWalk Village and the family-friendly festivities at Baytowne Wharf to the small-town charm of Grayton Beach and the Gulf-front celebrations in Seaside and Alys Beach, every community puts its own coastal spin on the Fourth of July.

For many families, the day starts on the water or beside the beach and ends beneath a sky filled with red, white, and blue. The challenge is not finding something to do—it is deciding which celebration best fits where you are staying.

In this guide, we have gathered the confirmed 2026 fireworks times, parade schedules, concerts, viewing locations, and local transportation tips for Destin and the surrounding Emerald Coast. You will also find practical advice on parking, traffic, Crab Island, fireworks cruises, and choosing an event close enough to enjoy without spending the holiday trapped on Highway 98.

Fourth of July Fireworks and Events in Destin

Destin hosts two of the holiday weekend’s largest celebrations. Destin Commons begins the festivities on July 3, while HarborWalk Village and the City of Destin anchor the main celebration on July 4.

Destin Harbor Fireworks and HarborWalk Village

Destin Harbor Fireworks and HarborWalk Village

The main Fourth of July fireworks show in Destin takes place over Destin Harbor and the East Pass at approximately 9:00 p.m. The 2026 presentation is scheduled to begin with a drone show followed by the traditional fireworks display.

HarborWalk Village is the center of the celebration, combining live music, waterfront restaurants, harbor views, and nighttime entertainment. Fourth of July festivities begin during the late afternoon and continue through the fireworks, with additional entertainment closing out the evening along the waterfront.

Popular viewing locations include:

  • HarborWalk Village and the Destin Harbor boardwalk
  • Waterfront restaurants along the harbor
  • Norriego Point and portions of Holiday Isle
  • Fireworks and dinner cruises departing from Destin Harbor
  • Boats positioned outside restricted launch areas
  • Select harborfront and Holiday Isle vacation rentals

HarborWalk offers the most entertainment before and after the show, but it also attracts the largest crowds. Visitors should arrive several hours early, as parking near the harbor becomes limited and traffic approaching the Destin Bridge can back up well before sunset.

Guests staying on Holiday Isle may be able to walk, bike, or watch from a nearby location rather than driving to HarborWalk.

Destin Commons Star-Spangled Food Truck Festival

Destin Commons Star-Spangled Food Truck Festival

Destin Commons begins the celebration one night early with its Star-Spangled Food Truck Festival on Friday, July 3.

The event runs from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and features more than 25 food trucks, live music, face painting, a photo booth, and family-friendly activities. Fireworks begin at 9:00 p.m.

The open-air setting gives families plenty of time to eat, explore the shops, and find a comfortable viewing location before the show. It is also one of the most convenient celebrations for guests staying in Crystal Beach, Destiny, or central Destin.

Fourth of July Events in Miramar Beach and Sandestin

Guests staying in Miramar Beach or Sandestin have two major fireworks celebrations nearby. Baytowne Wharf offers a lively village atmosphere on the bayside of the resort, while Hilton Sandestin Beach hosts a Gulf-front celebration.

Red, White & Baytowne at Baytowne Wharf

Red, White & Baytowne at Baytowne Wharf

The Village of Baytowne Wharf hosts Red, White & Baytowne from 6:00 to 9:15 p.m. on July 4.

The celebration includes live music on the Events Plaza stage, face painting, balloon sculpting, patriotic crafts, and other children’s activities. Fireworks begin over the Baytowne Lagoon at 9:15 p.m.

Baytowne is an especially convenient option for guests staying within Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort or nearby Miramar Beach. Registered Sandestin guests should use the resort’s internal tram system whenever possible instead of moving their vehicles during the busiest part of the evening..

Visitors coming from outside the resort should arrive early, as parking and entry traffic become increasingly difficult as showtime approaches.

Hilton Sandestin Fourth of July Fireworks

Hilton Sandestin Fourth of July Fireworks

Hilton Sandestin Beach hosts a weekend of Independence Day activities culminating in a Gulf-front fireworks display at 9:00 p.m. on July 4.

The holiday schedule includes daytime live music, family entertainment, an evening band, a cookout buffet, and a Warbirds flyover before the fireworks.

Access to the Hilton’s pool deck, beach facilities, parking, and organized activities may be limited to registered hotel guests. However, the fireworks themselves are visible from much of the surrounding shoreline, including many Gulf-front accommodations within Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. Guests staying in Ocean Reef’s Gulf-front Sandestin vacation rentals can often enjoy excellent views of the display without leaving the beach or battling holiday traffic.

What is Destin Like in July?

If you're dreaming of the ultimate summer getaway, the crystalline shores of the Emerald Coast should absolutely be at the top of your list. With its stunning blue-green waters, sugar-white sands, and endless activities, it's no wonder July is one of the most popular months to experience this coastal paradise.

What is Destin Like in July?

Fourth of July Celebrations on Scenic 30A

Scenic 30A celebrates Independence Day with a mix of small-town traditions, daytime family activities, live music, and Gulf-front fireworks.

Grayton Beach begins the morning with its famously unconventional parade. Seaside offers a full day of patriotic events, while Alys Beach closes the evening with live music and fireworks over the Gulf.

Grayton Beach Fourth of July Parade

Grayton Beach Fourth of July Parade

Grayton Beach begins Independence Day with one of Scenic 30A’s most beloved traditions.

The Grayton Beach Fourth of July Parade starts at 8:30 a.m. Participants gather near Pine Street and The Red Bar before making their way through the historic beach town.

Residents and visitors decorate Jeeps, golf carts, bicycles, scooters, boats, trailers, and sometimes themselves. The result is less formal procession and more rolling neighborhood celebration—which is exactly why people love it.

The route passes through historic Grayton Beach and near the Ocean Reef Resorts office at 15 Pine Street. Guests staying in Grayton can walk or bike to the parade rather than trying to enter town immediately before it begins.

After the parade, families can spend the day at the beach before heading to Seaside or another nearby community for evening fireworks.

Seaside will host a full day of events celebrating America’s 250th birthday.

The celebration begins at 9:00 a.m. with a block party and patriotic performance. Children’s entertainment follows during the morning, along with a patriotic bike parade and Seaside’s annual hot dog eating contest.

Live music continues during the afternoon before Sinfonia Gulf Coast takes the Seaside Amphitheater stage at 7:00 p.m. for its Patriotic Pops Concert.

Fireworks begin over the Gulf at 8:30 p.m., creating one of the most memorable Independence Day finales on Scenic 30A.

Parking in central Seaside is extremely limited on July 4. Walking or biking is strongly recommended for guests staying nearby. Visitors coming from outside Seaside should review the community’s current shuttle and parking information before leaving.

Alys Beach Fourth of July Concert and Fireworks

Alys Beach Fourth of July Concert and Fireworks

Alys Beach will host its Fourth of July Concert and Fireworks Show from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on the Alys Beach Amphitheatre lawn.

The free public celebration includes live music followed by fireworks launched from a barge positioned in the Gulf south of the amphitheater. Guests may bring blankets and low-back chairs, with food and drinks available from nearby Alys Beach merchants.

The barge must travel from Destin Harbor, so the fireworks display depends on safe Gulf and harbor conditions. Alys Beach may delay or cancel the show even when the weather appears calm at the amphitheater.

Visitors should check the community’s official social media channels for updates before heading to the event.

Fourth of July Fireworks in Fort Walton Beach

Fort Walton Beach offers a traditional community celebration at the Fort Walton Beach Landing, just west of Destin. Visitors should note that this is separate from The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island and its regular summer fireworks schedule.

Fort Walton Beach Landing Celebration

The City of Fort Walton Beach will celebrate Independence Day from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Fort Walton Beach Landing.

The free event includes food vendors, live music, and a fireworks finale over Santa Rosa Sound. The waterfront park provides a relaxed lawn-style setting in the center of downtown Fort Walton Beach.

Guests should bring chairs or blankets and arrive early enough to find parking and a comfortable viewing area before the evening crowds build.

July 4 Fireworks at The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island

The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island has not announced a separate fireworks show for Saturday, July 4, 2026. Its regular summer fireworks series takes place on Wednesday nights.

Visitors looking for an official Fort Walton Beach celebration on July 4 should attend the event at the Fort Walton Beach Landing.

Guests staying through the following Wednesday may also be able to attend the regular Okaloosa Island fireworks show at The Boardwalk.

More Ways to Celebrate the Fourth of July in Destin

Fireworks may be the grand finale, but many visitors spend most of Independence Day on the water, at the beach, or enjoying another signature Destin experience.

Spend the Day at Crab Island

Spend the Day at Crab Island

Crab Island is one of Destin’s most popular daytime destinations during the Fourth of July weekend. Visitors can rent a pontoon, reserve a captained boat, or use a water taxi to reach the submerged sandbar.

Reserve your Crab Island Adventure now!

Expect a lively holiday atmosphere, busy waterways, and larger-than-normal crowds. Boat rentals, captained excursions, and water taxis often sell out during the holiday week, so reservations should be made well in advance.

Crab Island is primarily a daytime destination and is not the main designated viewing location for the Destin Harbor fireworks. Most visitors should return to the harbor or their accommodations before dark and choose a designated evening viewing area.

Reserve a Destin Fireworks Cruise

Reserve a Destin Fireworks Cruise

A sunset or fireworks cruise can provide a clear view of the Destin Harbor or Baytowne fireworks without the struggle of finding a parking space.

Options may include sightseeing cruises, dinner cruises, charter boats, and private captained excursions. Some cruises combine dining and live entertainment with fireworks viewing from an open-air deck.

Reserve your Firework Cruise now!

Reservations are essential. Confirm which fireworks show the cruise will view, where it departs, what time boarding begins, and whether parking is included.

Watch the Fireworks From Your Vacation Rental

Watch the Fireworks From Your Vacation Rental

Some waterfront rentals on Holiday Isle, Destin Harbor, Sandestin, and Scenic 30A offer views of nearby fireworks. However, not every Gulf-front or harbor-area property has a direct line of sight.

Review the property location and satellite map before assuming the show will be visible from the balcony. Ocean Reef’s local reservation specialists can also help identify rentals near a particular celebration or viewing area.

Local Tips for a Less Stressful Fourth of July

Choose one part of the coast. Destin, Sandestin, Scenic 30A, and Fort Walton Beach all offer excellent celebrations. Trying to attend events in multiple areas usually means spending part of the evening in traffic.

Arrive early. Prime parking and viewing locations can fill several hours before the fireworks begin.

Expect heavy traffic. Highway 98, the Destin Bridge, Scenic Highway 98, and County Highway 30A experience significant delays before and after the shows.

Walk or bike when practical. This is especially helpful in Grayton Beach, Seaside, Sandestin, and Holiday Isle.

Reserve activities in advance. Boat rentals, cruises, restaurant tables, and captained excursions frequently sell out during the holiday week.

Check weather updates. Summer thunderstorms and Gulf conditions may delay or cancel fireworks, drone shows, concerts, flyovers, or barge-launched displays.

Do not rely on last year's schedule. Dates, performers, start times, parking procedures, and launch locations can change from one year to the next.

Plan Your Fourth of July Stay in Destin or 30A

The Fourth of July is one of the most popular vacation weeks of the year along the Emerald Coast. Properties near Destin Harbor, Baytowne Wharf, Grayton Beach, Seaside, and Alys Beach often book well in advance, especially those within walking distance of major celebrations and fireworks displays.

If this year's festivities have you dreaming about celebrating on the Emerald Coast, it's not too early to start planning for next summer. Many returning guests reserve their favorite vacation homes and condominiums months in advance to secure the location, views, and amenities they want most.

Ocean Reef Resorts has welcomed generations of guests to Destin and Scenic 30A since 1982. Our collection of Destin vacation homes and condominiums includes detailed descriptions, photography, satellite maps, and real-time availability to help you find the perfect home base for your Independence Day getaway.

The best Fourth of July plan is often the simplest one: stay close to your favorite celebration, leave the car parked, and spend the holiday making memories with family and friends along the Emerald Coast.
