This locale makes both destinations a convenient drive, but you may have a hard time getting away from Miramar Beach itself.  This wonderful world offers just about everything you would ever want for your family vacation. Besides the sparkling crystalline beach nestled beside translucent green waters, there are also many fine restaurants, lively bars, a world class discount designer outlet called Silver Sands, free live musical concerts, championship golf courses, tennis courts, water sports, seasonal festivals, and even firework celebrations. All of these delights are a short distance away since Miramar Beach is on a narrow peninsula sandwiched between the expanse of Choctawhatchee Bay to the north and the glistening waters of the gorgeous Gulf of Mexico to the south.

Sandestin Resort

The beautiful and prestigious Sandestin Golf Tennis and Beach Resort is located here, within the heart of the heart so to speak. This lushly landscaped 2,400 acre wonder world was established in the late 1970s and has grown into an exclusively gated residential community that comprises multiple neighborhoods or high rise luxury condominium towers. Many of them border the gleaming gulf, beautiful bay, or one of the four professionally designed championship golf courses.  The Town Center which parallels the Royal Palm lined Emerald Coast Parkway, beyond the gates of this "artificial Kingdom", is called Grand Boulevard which features upscale boutiques, fine restaurants, a state of the art stadium seated movie theater, and a small park with a geyser fountain. Just a few years ago, Sandestin opened itself up to the outside world by introducing the charming Village of Baytowne Wharf. It was built upon the sandy banks of the bay near the Sandestin Marina with a long wharf at the end that juts out into the waters towards the west. This makes it a wonderful destination point for fishing or watching truly heavenly sunsets that are mirrored in the bay during the spring and summer.  Baytowne is a Disneyesque mini creation of New Orleans that looks a lot like the famed French Quarter due to its architectural styling however this new version is safe, clean, and very family friendly. In fact, Baytowne is a virtual feast of delightful diversion for old and young alike. There is a brightly lighted, old fashioned carousel ride for the kids during the warmer month which is replaced by an outdoor ice skating rink during the winter. A Zip Line Tower allows adventurers to soar across the lagoon from about fifty feet up. The tower itself is like an obstacle course with rope bridges and ladders that lead to the "jump off" point at the top. There are also Bubble Balls, Trampolines, an Arcade, a seasonal water park, and other fun diversions. Adults enjoy the multitude of unique boutiques, bars, and restaurants which abound here as well. Throughout the year there are a number of special festivals which include wine and beer tastings, gumbo contests, art shows, fishing tournaments, tennis tournaments, championship golf gatherings, patriotic performances, fireworks, costumed Christmas caroling as well as special live concerts for musical entertainment. Besides all the fun, the entire village is usually adorned with lights or seasonal decorations so you always know which holiday you are celebrating! Baytowne is a pedestrian community so the only motorized vehicle you will ever see on the village streets are golf carts which are allowed within when they have a holiday parade.

Two of our featured private rental home selections, "Tuscan Breeze" and "Villa Aqua", are located on Sandestin and are only a short golf cart ride (golf cart provided) away from all this family fun. In Sandestin's newest neighborhood, Villa Lago is within easy walking distance of all of the activities Baytowne Village has to offer. Villa Lago itself is a community of single family vacation homes that are wonderfully styled to look like something you would expect to see in Tuscany or somewhere on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. There is a nice neighborhood pool with a sunny spacious patio along with full bathroom facilities with showers.

Tuscan Breeze

The first Sandestin home, called Tuscan Breeze, is stylishly decorated with the best of everything. The mission terracotta tiled roof and stucco walls give it a distinctive old world look but the indoors are thoroughly 21st century with all the modern conveniences. The main living area has a multitude of sunny windows which create a cheerful ambiance during the day. At night you will enjoy viewing the mounted flat screen TV that sits at the end of this room. It is flanked by two plush full sized couches on each side and two big comfortable armchairs which face the TV for almost movie theater type viewing.  The open kitchen has state of the art stainless steel appliances with three amber domes over a richly mottled granite counter top where three bar stools are provided for the enjoyment of eats and drinks. A separate dining room has a table for six that sits under an elegant shaded chandelier providing an enchanting glow. The Master Bedroom Suite has a massive scrolled mahogany frame king sized bed. This faces a large wall mounted flat screen TV for easy viewing and is adjacent to a glass door that leads out onto a romantic Tuscan balcony that looks down upon a long lagoon. The Master Bath is very luxurious with a deep garden tub encased in marble with two separate granite topped vanities on each side. A glassed in shower is off to one side so that two of you may get ready at the same time if you're in a rush catch a sunset and make that special dinner reservation at nearby Baytowne Wharf. The two Guest Bedrooms are also beautifully decorated and each has access to a full bath. Both guest bedrooms are also provided with flat screen TVs as well as an alcove that contains twin Bunk Beds for the kids.

Villa Aqua

Villa Aqua is another new home in Sandestin in Villa Lago that also sits on a long lagoon and features the same charming old world ambiance with its distinctive Mediterranean design but has thoroughly modern interiors.  This three bedroom, three bath home can sleep seven guests since besides the king and queen sized beds there is also a twin bunk with two trundles. The columned entrance sits beneath a window with a decorative balcony above and bids you a romantic entrance. Once inside you notice the other floor to ceiling windows in the main living area that provides lots of lovely light in the large open room. Plush cream colored furnishings with multiple pillows provide a pleasing comfortable look and feel. Two columned side tables with tasteful accents and matching lamps add an elegant touch. The open kitchen is warm and appealing with chocolate colored cabinetry accented by a beautiful mosaic of malt cream tiles along with a mottled granite counter top that contains a large double stainless steel sink. The gleaming stainless steel appliances give you everything you may need to create your own fun family culinary seafood feast. Like the other, there is a separate dining room along with the Breakfast Bar for seating. A downstairs Powder Room is also nearby for convenience. A handsome open staircase leads from the main living area upstairs to the three bedrooms which contain the Master Suite with a king sized bed, the romantic balcony, and a luxurious full private bath. The beautifully appointed Guest Rooms also have access to their own full bathrooms and one of them is perfect for kids since it has twin bunk beds with double trundle berths.

Seadreams 7 is named after the fact that there are seven bedrooms in this big Sandestin area beachfront home where you may enjoy your own sea dreams. It is also within the heart of Miramar Beach but so "off the beaten trail" in an old Florida neighborhood called Tang o Mar that many people do not even know it exists. This home is perfect for big family and friend reunions or even wedding events since it is divided into two homes like a duplex. Both the east and west sides of this spacious residence have their own living area, kitchen, and bedroom suites. This allows groups with diverse interests or ages to have the convenience of togetherness along with the ability to withdraw to their own private space. Covered open deck balconies on two different levels run from one side of the house to the other. They each offer sensational views of the private sparkling white beach and the emerald green waters that extend all the way to the southern horizon.  The "West Wing" so to speak, has a living room, dining room, kitchen, powder room, and a Master Suite with a private bath on the first level with another King Master Suite and a Guest Bedroom with two twin beds. Each one has its own full bath. The "East Wing" also has a living room, dining room, kitchen, and Master Bedroom Suite with a bath on the first level but also has another living area above along with the Master Suite, baths, and two more bedrooms.
