If you are searching for a serene retreat to enjoy a memorable visit with family and friends, then Seacrest Beach is sure to become your new favorite home away from home! This wonderful South Walton community is a hidden gem that is not as well known as many other destinations along Scenic 30A.
Ocean Reef Resorts is pleased to offer many fine vacation rentals in Seacrest Beach ranging from one-bedroom luxury condos to private beach homes with views of the shimmering sugar white shoreline. The architecture ranges from chic contemporary designs to an abundance of the charming old Florida styles complete with wrap around balconies, picket fences, breezy covered porches and soaring ceilings. A virtual forest of palm trees accentuates the landscape throughout the community along with other lovely indigenous tropical plants. Seacrest Beach straddles Scenic 30A next to Rosemary Beach towards the east and then wraps around Alys Beach to the west. This area has a fairly high elevation by Florida standards so the gorgeous glistening gulf may be easily seen as you drive along the shore. Sometimes you may even see pods of delightful dolphin frolicking in the distance. A majority of this "town" is primarily an upscale residential community comprised of many beautiful homes and luxurious condominiums.
This large community is known as Seacrest Beach North and has the distinction of having the largest community pool in South Walton. This contains an enormous 12,000 square foot area of interconnecting swimming pools located in the heart the community. The multiple pools provide a magical setting as a refreshing oasis and interconnect on multiple levels. They come complete with waterfalls and a fountain, which is centered upon one of them. The waterfalls that flow from one pool and cascade down into another provide a luxurious lushly landscaped lagoon type setting. On hot summer days, children and adults enjoy splashing beneath the spray that mists down from fountain pool above. In addition there are separate kid and adult areas as well as two additional designated lap pools available for avid swimmers. Surrounding this precious piece of paradise are walkways that meander past beautiful gardens. There are arbors, picnic pavilions, BBQ grills and even an amphitheater that stages occasional concerts.
If you love nature, you will be happy to know that Seacrest Beach also borders two protected coastal dune lakes, which serve as a unique and rare natural phenomenon. Only a couple of dozen of these unique lakes can be found anywhere in the world which makes them an exotic national treasure. The ever-changing tide of the salty gulf occasionally ebbs and flows across the dunes mixing with these freshwater lakes. This creates a habitat that supports an abundance of varied wildlife both flora and fauna. One of the most beautiful and accessible is preserved in a state park called Deer Lake, comprising over 2,000 acres. A raised walkway carries you across about a mile of Scrub Oaks, Magnolias, flowing creeks, and Cypress marshlands all the way to the ancient dunes and beautiful beach. The vast ecosystems include deer and waterfowl year round with colorful, migratory butterflies arriving in the fall. Summer wildflowers are bountiful with Blue Lupine, Spoon Flowers, Asters and Golden Rod to name a few. A short distance away, is the other coastal dune lake at Camp Creek Lake Park. Originally named for the Creek Indians who camped here years ago, this lake is a little less accessible but does have hiking trails with various marshlands, pine and live oak forests.
Although Seacrest Beach mostly vacation rentals it is just a minute or two away from Rosemary Beach and its fine assortment of specialty shops, restaurants and some fun wine bars. Seacrest Beach itself has a wonderful new bistro that opened in 2014 called Acme Ice House that is within walking distance from many of our vacation rental properties. It features farm fresh ingredients and delicious "down home" meals that are cooked in open kitchens. Classic recipes remind you of a Sunday Meal gathered with family and friends since this restaurant promotes this kind of special ambiance. Entrees include fresh seafood of course as well as Angus Beef. There is also an outdoor patio café area and a fun friendly bar with TVs for the enjoyment of current sporting events. Nearby is a formal European styled complex complete with green awnings and canopies called Villages of South Walton. This is adorned by a half moon grassy area surrounded by colorful individual retail shops and an interactive kid's fountain with multiple heads that randomly shoots fun geysers right out of the ground.
