The low-cost airline Avelo recently announced its latest route expansion—and we’re happy to see that a direct flight from New Haven, Connecticut, to the Destin-VPS airport, is on that list! If you live in New Haven or the surrounding area, planning your Emerald Coast beach vacation just got easier.
The new Avelo route from New Haven (HVN) to Destin (VPS), along with other new nonstop flights, will begin in May 2023. Flights will be offered twice weekly and run through the summer months. Which, of course, is the perfect time to visit the Destin’s crystal white sand beaches.

The nonstop flight to Destin from New Haven is approximately three hours. The Destin-VPS airport is about a 30-minute drive to Destin, depending on traffic.
